WOW, what a ride today. I've wanted to find a safe route from my house to Stoney Creek for a while now and decided to give it a go. Started from 14 mile and rode up Jefferson to Metro Park bilke path. Took the path to Schoenherr (sp) and continued on the path up Schoenherr to Utica Rd. to Dodge Park. I rode through the park to a tunnel that went under M59 and into the city of Utica, then unfortunatly, I took a wrong turn and headed up Auburn Rd. by the time I got to Dequinder I figured it out. Now it was fairly windy today and since I left the house I had a tailwind which was very encouraging but when I had to turn around and go back to Utica it was straight into the wind. That was a little taste of what my ride back home from Stoney would be like. So I made it back to Utica and headed north on Cass which turned into Shelby Rd. and went straight into Stoney Creek, a nice road to ride, it's smooth and not too much traffic. So I made it to SC and it's not a bad ride, just don't get lost, once there I did a couple laps around the park and then the part I was dreading, back home into the wind all the way. I hate the wind, it was a very good ride today and with that wind I was toast, my sister would say my cook was goosed :)
I'll post a message when I do this ride again if anyone would like to join me.
How was your ride today?

Lets do the Wolverine 200
Saturday May 24 is the Wolverine Sports Clubs annual Wolverine 200. This event is a great chance to challenge yourself, it's not a race but it's not really a tour either. You set your own limits, how far you want to go within your own time limit, or just come out for a relaxing ride.
It's a small course on Belle Isle (aprx. 5 miles) so you end up doing a lot of laps but if we get a lot of team members to come out to this event this will be a fun event. It's a closed course so bring the kids too and let them get involved and ride. We can set up the team canopy right on the course, a bunch of comfy chairs to hang out on, coolers with cold drinks, grills to cook on and no pressure to cross a finish line. Here is the web site on active check it out and lets get a lot of team members out there having a good time. http://www.active.com/page/Event_Details.htm?event_id=1541988&assetId=2f6faa4c-c3c0-4cb4-806b-d3a97b59df09

March Saturday Morning Rides
Race season is approaching quickly! Weather permitting I'll be riding outside every Saturday morning. Most of the rides will be on the road at Stony. Bring your road bike and lets put in some time trial efforts to get a jump start on the season. Weather permitting 10:00 at the boat launch every Sat. morning during March. If the trails are rideable this ride may move to PLRA at an earlier time when the trail is frozen. Personally I'm planning on a shorter time trial effort each ride. Post a comment if you want to ride.
